Westcoast
The west coast of Mallorca is dominated from North to South by the Tramuntana Mountains.
Possibly the towns of Banyalbufar, Estellencs, Valldemossa, Deiá, Soller and Fornalutx are the only towns that have kept all their character and philosophy after the touristic boom which has changed our wonderful island.
This area of Mallorca has been since the start of tourism, one of the main attractions of the island and very few are the tourists which haven’t been overwhelmed by the beautiful scenery. The best way to get to know this landscape is to travel the coast road enjoying every moment of the magnificent sea views and the spectacular Mountain range.
The countless dry stone terraces, thousand year old olive trees, manor houses, picturesque towns, exploring the narrow roads with their stone faced houses, enjoying some of the local gastronomy offered by the local tapas bars and restaurants, or simply relaxing on one of the many boats that leave the beautiful port of Soller daily. A list of many wonderful things that this area of Mallorca has to offer

Soller and Fornalutx
The town of Soller with its 13,800 inhabitants is located in the northwest of the island, a few kilometers inland from the Port de Soller. It is the largest valley of the Serra de Tramuntana and the municipality comprises several villages. The best known of these are Puerto de Sóller and Biniaraix. The name Soller originates from the original name sulliar, meaning ""gold"" in Arabic, because of the golden coloured olive oil cultivated here. Thanks to the famous oranges from Soller, the valley is still to this day a ""golden"" place.
Palma de Mallorca is 24kms away and there is a railway that links Soller with Palma www.trendesoller.com/en/cms.php/Train_Itinerary . For accommodation, we can recommend the Grand Hotel Soller - www.granhotelsoller.com/en/ , Finca Can N'Ai

Located in the valley of Soller, Fornalutx is surrounded by terraces of ancient olive trees and orange groves. It is a wonder of architecture and landscaping and is one of the most peaceful places on the island, even though it is also one of the most visited in Mallorca. We can recommend the Petit Hotel www.fornalutxpetithotel.com/phfin.htm
Cala Tuent is one of the few completely unspoilkt coves on the island, located between La Costera and La Calobra, with a length of about 180m. Its pebbled beach with crystal clear waters is surrounded by steep cliffs, much appreciated by walkers. It can also be reached via the road between Soller and Lluc and on certain days by boat from Port de Sóller.
