Southwest
The most desirable region of Mallorca
This area reaches from the Capital Palma down towards the Port of Andratx. Due to its well-developed infrastructure, there is a higher density of luxury villas and apartments than anywhere else on the island. Although this area was one of the first to receive tourists, after a short time it was the most sought after part of the island to have a second home or holiday place. That's why the South West area has always been one of most attractive areas.
Sandy beaches, beautiful blue bays and various golf courses. Prestigious luxury yacht harbours are the highlights of this area. Famous bars, hotels, restaurants and designer shops are well presented in the southwest and easily accessed in a short amount of time.
The high demand of sea view properties in this part of the island, made that recent developers and constructors are reforming the existing properties, and constructing beautiful new build properties.
Bendinat / Puerto Portals / Port Andratx are well known names in the world from the jet set and are very famous for their luxury and high quality estates.
Upcoming areas like Port Adriano, Nova Santa Ponsa and Sol de Mallorca are alternative areas, with great potential and more new developed properties.

Port Andratx
Located 28 km from Palma, with 3,200 inhabitants, the port of Andratx is the westernmost port in Mallorca, and therefore closest to the island of Ibiza, located just 80 miles away. Port Andratx is one of the few professional fishing ports, where you can buy the daily catch after 4pm on weekdays, from its renovated fish market. It is also one of the most beautiful natural harbours in the Mediterranean, with crystalline waters that are perfect for bathing in two of its little bays. So clean and protected are the waters that fish varieties gilt-head and sea bass are also harvested here.
The Yacht Club www.cvpa.es, founded in 1968, has European environmental quality certifications (including ISO 14001), and has 475 moorings, as well as 182 moorings managed by the Government of Mallorca. The Yacht Club also has an important sailing school for small sail boats and canoes, with a range of possibilities for residents and visitors.
It was completely reformed in the summer of 2013.
The port of Andratx has grown from a fishing port into one of the most desirable places for second homes. With no large sandy beach, mass tour operators have historically kept away, and so the port has preserved its original character and is a perfect place for year round living. The many excellent restaurants, boutiques and shops make the port a lively social and shopping area, and a coffee, drink or meal on the sea front is a “must” for any visitor or resident, enjoyable throughout the year.
